Pondicherry: straight, wide, white streets. Almost empty during the hot hours of the day. Those pictures were taken in the north part of the city. South part: with shops and more people. Lots of flowered trees, pink or fiery orange.




I'd say Satsanga, a French restaurant, south part of town, may be the best non-indian restaurant in India.

Along the main part of town, the coast of the Bay of Bengal is hardly a beach. Rocks and promenades.


Further north, you'll find tamil village life: fishing communities and palm-tree leaves houses.

Also: beaches filled with fhishing paraphernalia.

5 or 6 kilometers north, and you'll start to see resorts beaches fitted for swimming, including lifeguards. I had no problems when I squatted such a private beach, maybe because I'm obviously White.
